Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Iturraspe admits it ‘does not feel’ like goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will leave the club in January.
Hailing the reported Real Madrid-target as a model professional, the midfielder believes that despite the goalkeeper’s contract expiring next June, his teammates are not concerned.
“The players do not have the feeling that these are Kepa’s final weeks here at the club,” Iturraspe is quoted as saying by Diario AS.
“He is a consummate professional and also a fantastic person, it does not matter whether or not he is starting games or not, his attitude is fantastic.
“We know his contract is coming up to an expiration date, along with a few other players, but this is a situation for the Coach and the club itself.”
The midfielder also confirmed he would be ‘ready’ to return for Athletic in the upcoming Basque derby against Real Sociedad.
