Las Palmas have sacked Coach Pako Ayestaran in the aftermath of Wednesday’s Copa Del Rey defeat to Deportivo La Coruna.
Los Amarillos progressed to the last 16 of the competition on aggregate but the defeat was the Coach’s seventh in nine matches in charge of the club.
Earlier this month, the former Valencia boss set an unwanted La Liga record of 13 straight consecutive defeats as manager across his spell with Los Che and the Gran Canarian club.
That run was eventually ended on Sunday with a 2-2 draw at Real Sociedad but the decision was taken late on Thursday night to make a change.
“We did not plan to change the Coach,” president Miguel Angel Ramirez told a press conference.
“The situation now is that we are trying to find a new Coach in the next 24 or 48 hours.”
Las Palmas host Real Betis on Sunday evening.
