Real Betis will attempt to sign Roma defender Hector Moreno in the January transfer window, according to reports in the Spanish press.
The Mexican central defender joined the Italian giants in summer in a €5.7m deal from PSV Eindhoven but has only started two matches in the first four months of the campaign.
The 29-year-old is familiar with La Liga having made 135 appearances for Espanyol across a four-year stint with the Catalan club.
A report in Sevilla ABC states Los Verdiblancos will attempt to sign the Mexican international in January and he is keen on a move to earn a place at next year’s World Cup.
Moreno is close friends with compatriot and Betis midfielder Andres Guardado with his profile matching that which Betis are looking for with doubts over the form of defenders Jordi Amat and Alin Tosca.
