Atletico Madrid are reportedly close to finalising the permanent sale of Portuguese starlet Diogo Jota to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
According to Fichajes.net via the Daily Express, Wolves are also willing “to pay a hefty fee as soon as possible” in order to keep Jota beyond his loan spell.
The 20-year-old only joined Atleti last year and was tipped for a bright future at Wanda Metropolitano.
He returned to Portugal with Porto last season, before following ex-Valencia boss Nuno Espirito Santo to the English second tier over the summer.
The attacking midfielder has scored six goals and assisted one in 11 Championship appearances for Wolves this season.
Atleti’s transfer ban, meanwhile, will be lifted in January, and they have Diego Costa and Vitolo waiting to be registered.
