Jorge Jesus has lamented his Sporting CP side failing to take a ‘great opportunity’ to beat Barcelona on Wednesday night.
A second half own goal from Sporting’s Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates decided the game in Lisbon with the hosts feeling they could have done more.
“I am not in a good mood,” Jesus told his post-match press conference.
“I told my players that this was a great opportunity to win as we had a chance to beat Barca, so it is a shame for us.
“In the first half we controlled the game but unlike usual we were not a creative team but with the game scoreless at half time I told the players we had a huge chance to win, and we had chances to do it.
“Despite our own goal, we showed how strong a team we are tonight.”
