Las Palmas hope to make it back-to-back wins on Sunday, but they face an Athletic Bilbao side that remain unbeaten this season.
Las Palmas boss Manolo Marquez on the importance of scoring first: “The keys can be that we keep showing an improvement, and from there we’ll try to win.
“The team have the characteristics to do a bit of everything. We were dedicated to making the game as practical as possible and we also have players with pace out wide.
“It’s a cliché, but the team that score first often have more chances to win.”
Athletic boss Jose Angel Ziganda on his team not being lucky: “We have things to improve on. We had a very good first half on Thursday [against Hertha Bertlin] but lacked the goal.
“We won’t stop insisting. We need to improve in terms of fluidity and movement, as well as find a bit more confidence.
“Still, we’re also doing quite a lot of things well. I’m not someone that relies on luck. Luck always falls on the same teams.
“if we’re like this, it’s not because of luck. It’s because we deserve it.”
