Zinedine Zidane has confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will ‘play the full 90 minutes’ for Real Madrid against Fiorentina in the Trofeo Bernabeu on Wednesday.
The Portuguese star is two matches into his five-game suspension in Spanish football while summer arrivals Theo Hernandez and Dani Ceballos, alongside youngster Marcos Llorente, Borja Mayoral, Achraf Hakimi, Manu Hernando and Alvaro Tejero should all feature.
“It's an important match for the fans,” Zidane told reporters ahead of the tie.
“We will attempt to put in a strong performance but the most important thing is that players who need more playing opportunity get it especially after it comes this year after the first La Liga round.
“Cristiano Ronaldo will start the game and play the full 90 minutes. We want the trophy to remain here and we're aiming to put in a good performance and win.”
This clash marks 60 years since Madrid defeated the Italian club in the 1957 European Cup final.
