Deportivo La Coruna have agreed a season-long loan deal for FC Porto striker Adrian Lopez, club president Tino Fernandez has confirmed.
The 29-year-old has spent the past two seasons on loan at Villarreal, but has managed only six La Liga goals across the two campaigns as he played a bit-part role.
Lopez spent five years with Depor at the beginning of his career before joining Atletico Madrid, with whom he won the 2014 title and despite moving permanently to Porto that summer, has failed to play regular football at Estadio Dragao.
“We have an agreement with Adrian and with Porto,” Fernandez told Galicia en Goles.
"There is an agreement for a season long loan. All that is missing is something between them (the striker and Porto)."
The president also confirmed this was not linked to Lucas Perez, whom the club are still hopeful of signing as Florin Andone is their only recognised first-team striker.
