Boca Juniors are hopeful on deals to sign Sevilla midfield duo Walter Montoya and Franco Vazquez, their president has confirmed.
Both players joined Los Rojiblancos following instructions from former boss Jorge Sampaoli but following his departure in May, new Coach Eduardo Berizzo values the duo less highly.
"If Sevilla are open to the sales of Vazquez and Montoya then yes, Boca are interested in both of those players," explained Boca president Daniel Angelici on Radio La Red.
Vazquez made 38 appearances for the Andalucians last season, scoring eight goals, following a move from Palermo while Montoya, also a Fenerbahce-target, appeared four times since a January switch from Rosario.
Despite being an Italian international, winger Vazquez is Argentine-born while 24-year-old Montoya departed Argentina for the first time in his career earlier this year.
