Sevilla are stepping up their pursuit of Fenerbahce central defender Simon Kjaer and have offered €5.5m plus midfielder Walter Montoya.
Los Rojiblancos are keen to offset the loss of Adil Rami – who joined Marseille for €6m earlier this month – but may have to up their offer for the Fener defender despite El Desmarque’s claims of this latest bid.
Diario AS claimed Milan had seen an €8m bid for the Denmark international rejected earlier in the transfer window and the Turkish giants value the defender at closer to €10m.
However, Fener are reportedly keen to balance their books for Financial Fair Play if they are to make significant signings this summer.
Kjaer, who has made 88 appearances for the club, moved to Istanbul in 2015 from Lille in a €7.5m deal and his perceived leadership skills and physical presence are said to be what is attracting the Andalucian side to his availability.
