Felipe Caicedo is not training with Espanyol as he attempts to force an exit from the club this summer with Girona and Lazio both interested.
Marca report the 28-year-old was not part of the club’s party travelling to Indonesia on their pre-season tour and the club have now given him permission to skip training to find a new club.
The report suggests La Liga new-boys Girona are keen on a permanent deal for the Ecuador international while Corriere Dello Sport report Lazio have launched bid between €5m and €7m.
The striker’s €2m-a-year wages are a major stumbling blocks for the Catalan club although it is possible he may take a pay cut to force through a deal swiftly.
Having had spells at Manchester City, Malaga, Sporting CP, Basel, Lokomotiv Moscow and Levante only netted twice in 27 league appearances for Espanyol last season.
