Former Spain and Real Madrid Coach Vicente Del Bosque hopes Alvaro Morata will stay at the Bernabeu despite interest from Manchester United.
Los Blancos are hopeful of negotiating the English giants to an €80m fee for the 24-year-old striker, who is reportedly open to leaving Madrid due to lack of regular playing time.
"These are decisions for the players," Del Bosque told El Transistor on Thursday.
"If I were the Real Madrid coach I would like him to stay. He is a senior Spain international and Madrid should never let go the best players.”
Morata netted 15 times in only 14 La Liga starts last season, finding himself behind Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo in the main striking position at the club.
