Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata’s move to Manchester United is reportedly imminent after talks between the clubs resumed following his wedding.
The 24-year-old recently tied the knot and Diario AS report this put a temporary hold to negotiations between the two clubs, although this has now resumed with an agreement ‘very close’.
United have reportedly offered €70m for the Spain international but Madrid are holding out for €80-90m – pointing to the current market, the striker’s youth and his status at the top level of football.
Morata only rejoined Los Blancos last summer following a two-year stint at Juventus and he netted 15 goals in just 14 La Liga starts under Zinedine Zidane.
Current Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho gave the striker his first-team debut at the Bernabeu in the 2010/11 campaign and the bond between the two is thought to be a driving force behind the deal.
To add further fuel to speculation regarding a deal, Morata’s wife Alice Campello followed United’s official instagram page on Monday.
