Real Sociedad have completed the signing of defender Diego Llorente on a five-year contract from Real Madrid, it has been confirmed.
The 23-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Malaga after a previous season-long stint at Rayo Vallecano having first made his debut for Madrid under Jose Mourinho in the 2012/13 season.
Capped once by Spain, the highly-rated defender joins La Real on a long-term deal and whilst no fee has been announced, it is thought the move was sanctioned for around €8m.
"Everything I have heard about San Sebastian has been very good," Llorente told the Basque club’s official website.
"I'm very happy that a club like Real Sociedad have shown an interest in me.
"Real Sociedad has a very good reputation, both in Spain and in Europe."
Everton were also thought to be interested in the central defender but he displayed a willingness to remain in La Liga.
