Real Madrid full back Fabio Coentrao will complete his season-long loan deal to Sporting CP this week, say reports in Spain.
According to Marca, the 29-year-old is set to be confirmed as the second departure from Los Blancos this summer following the exit of fellow Portuguese defender Pepe.
Coentrao – who joined Madrid from Sporting’s city rivals Benfica in 2011 – has not played more than 10 La Liga matches in one single season for Madrid since 2012-13.
The defender’s deal at the Bernabeu expires in 2019 but the reports indicate he could leave Madrid permanently in a year’s time on a free transfer.
Capped 51 times by Portugal, Coentrao appeared against Sporting for Los Blancos in their Champions League clash in Portugal last season.
