A leading Italian commentator claims Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma “will probably join” Real Madrid this summer.
Marco Lollobrigida, who will commentate on Italy’s games for state broadcaster Rai at the European Under-21 Championship, explained the move would be “a great opportunity” for Donnarumma.
“He’ll probably join Real Madrid and it’s a great opportunity for the player,” he told Marca.
Sky Sport Italia journalist Vanesa Leonardi added: “He’s the ideal goalkeeper for Real Madrid. He’s a young man of great quality and character.”
The 18-year-old will keep goal for the Azzurrini in Poland, where they are joined by Spain’s Under-21 team.
Despite the announcement that he will not sign a new contract with Milan, the club’s owner Li Yonghong told Italian newspaper Il Giornale that Donnarumma “is not for sale”.
