Real Madrid’s striker Alvaro Morata’s move to Manchester United could be completed by the end of the week, according to reports in Spain.
Cadena Ser’s El Larguero show report agreement between both clubs and the player is ‘very close’ although they do predict an official announcement may be delayed due to Madrid’s upcoming presidential elections.
United are thought to have offered the 24-year-old striker a ‘long term contract’ of between four and five years and is viewed as a direct replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was not offered a new contract at Old Trafford due to a cruciate knee injury.
Cadena Ser first reported the potential deal in April, stating he was a priority for Jose Mourinho – who awarded him his first-team debut at the Bernabeu.
No fee has been mentioned in relation to the deal, although previous reports suggest a move would be in the region of €60m.
