Marco Verratti has informed Paris Saint-Germain he wishes to leave the club this summer to join Barcelona, but the Parisians are unlikely to sell.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian midfielder’s agent Donato Di Campli has met with the Ligue 1 club’s sporting director Antero Henrique in Milan on Monday to state Verratti’s attention to leave.
The 24-year-old has long been linked with a move to the Camp Nou with the belief he can be the long-term replacement for Xavi Hernandez.
However, the report continues that not only are PSG unwilling to sell the Italian but they are prepared to offer him a new long-term deal in order to quell his dissatisfaction in Paris.
Reports suggest any deal for the former Pescara midfielder would cost upwards of €80m with Chelsea and Juventus also reportedly in the frame for his signature.
