Atletico Madrid defender Theo Hernandez has been reported to the police for alleged sexual assault, according to multiple reports in Spain.
Initially reported by El Espanol and since confirmed by Cope and Marca, a 20-year-old woman reported the footballer to the police after an incident at a Marbella nightclub on Saturday night.
Hernandez – who spent last season on loan at Alaves and is reportedly on the verge of a move to Real Madrid this summer – is reportedly denying the reports to the police of the incident which is alleged to have taken place at 4am.
The reports state the two left a nightclub and went into the back of a nearby car, where she reportedly told the footballer to stop with his advances but he is said to have refused, carrying on for several minutes before ‘throwing the girl from the car’, when she reportedly injured her knees.
The female then attended the Costa del Sol hospital before reporting the incident to the police, although Marca report Theo’s representatives believe there are ‘inconsistencies’ in the report.
Earlier this year, Hernandez’s brother Lucas – also a defender at Atletico – was sentenced to community service and fined, alongside his ex-girlfriend, following domestic violence.
