Luis Enrique says he is confident that Barcelona will contest La Liga and the Copa del Rey “at 100 percent” after Saturday’s 3-0 win at Espanyol.
Luis Suarez’s brace and an Ivan Rakitic strike kept Catalonia’s bragging rights with Barca and moved them back to the top of the League, leaving the Blaugrana still in with the chance of another domestic double.
“Maybe the first half wasn’t as effective or spectacular as we’d have liked, but we managed to wear Espanyol down,” the Coach said after the game.
“We knew we had to play at a very high pace because they rotated hardly any players and we rested many players.
“Our high rhythm forced them to make mistakes in the second half.
“We have two very clear and precise objectives [the League and Cup] and we are going to give our all for them.
“We’ll face them at 100 percent in terms of strength and energy. We deserved the win.
“I wasn’t worried about Suarez’s poor run because he brings us so much more than goals.
“But it’s clear that for a striker, goals are important. And what’s very clear is that goals and Suarez will always be united.
“It was an intense derby, but it was always about the football.”
