Villarreal boss Fran Escriba has refused to comment on his future at the club, stating he is only focusing on the ‘day-by-day’ duties.
The 51-year-old replaced Marcelino on the eve of the current season kicking off and has guided the Yellow Submarine to 5th in La Liga, eight points off fourth-placed Sevilla with a game in hand.
“As I’ve mentioned before, my continuation at the club is simply not relevant for now, it is not up for discussion,” revealed Escriba ahead of his side’s trip to Alaves on Monday.
“Once the season is over, we’ll sit down and talk about the future but for now, it is not something that I am thinking about at all.”
A draw or win for Alaves would be enough to lift them back above Valencia in the standings to 11th.
