Rosario Central winger Walter Montoya has confirmed that he will join Sevilla, either now or in the summer.
Montoya is expected to sign a four-and-a-half contract with Sevilla after 67 appearances, seven goals and seven assists for Rosario since his first-team debut in 2014.
However, his arrival this month depends on whether the Andalusians can free up a non-EU spot in their squad, with Ganso or Hiroshi Kiyotake likely to be sacrified.
“I’m very happy to have resolved my transfer because I know that I’m joining an important club,” he told Fox Gol Verano.
“I talked to Sampaoli and our conversation was important for me to make the decision of joining Sevilla.
“Now I have to wait until [Saturday] to see if I’ll join now or in June.
“I’m happy because the Coach called me, even though I know I’ll have to go out and fight for a starting position. I’m happy to be joining this club.”
