Deportivo La Coruna boss Gaizka Garitano has revealed that the club are close to signing ex-Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano attacker Gael Kakuta.
Kakuta enjoyed a successful 2014-15 campaign with Rayo before joining Sevilla, but the Frenchman managed just five appearances at Sanchez Pizjuan and was on the move again last January, joining Chinese side Hebei China Fortune.
“We played against a very good team,” the Coach said after the Galicians’ 0-0 draw with Villarreal on Saturday.
“I appreciate the game we had, but I’m not happy with the result. There weren’t many clear chances, but the two or three very clear ones were ours.
“I think we were able to win, really. I’m happy with the team’s performance but not the draw.
“Kakuta? I know him. I liked him before and we’ll see how he is when he arrives. He can give us good things.”
