Stevan Jovetic is set to join Sevilla from Inter Milan this week after the striker posted a picture indicating he was on his way to the Andalucian city.
The Montenegrin striker posted a photo to social media platform instagram of himself on a plane with the caption ‘Sevilla’, seemingly making it clear he was on his way to the Europa League winners.
Jovetic has not attempted to hide his desire to leave the Nerazzurri and after he was left out of the Inter squad to face Udinese at the weekend, proclaiming he hasn’t been given a fair chance in Milan.
"I can say that I was not happy with how things went last season,” is quoted as saying by Montenegro Mondo.
"I worked hard, I was ready to play, but I was never given the opportunity. It's not down to me because I was doing well — the games I played demonstrate it.
"I don't want to get into what the problem is. I'm a professional and that is how I behave. My job is to train the best I possibly can every day to be ready to play at any time.
"Why I have not been given this opportunity is not a question you should be asking me."
Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport reported the former Manchester City forward had responded to a fan who asked him whether he would be going to Sevilla be saying: "Let's hope so."
Meanwhile, Sevilla president Jose Castro has made no secret of his club’s attempts to land the forward.
“We speak of a magnificent player, we hope he can come here to demonstrate his value and repeat everything good that he has been able to do in Italy and elsewhere," Castro had told Cadena COPE last week.
"I think we can reach a successful conclusion, but I do not like talking about things that have not been finalised.”
