Sevilla are closing in on a deal to sign Inter striker Stevan Jovetic as President Jose Castro hopes “we can reach a successful conclusion”.
Sevilla have made no secret of their desire to land a forward this month, and Marca reports Jovetic is “virtually” a Nervionenses player, although it is not known whether the Montenegrin star will arrive at Sanchez Pizjuan on loan or permanently.
“We speak of a magnificent player, we hope he can come here to demonstrate his value and repeat everything good that he has been able to do in Italy and elsewhere," Castro told Cadena COPE.
"I think we can reach a successful conclusion, but I do not like talking about things that have not been finalised.”
Jovetic, 27, broke through at Partizan Belgrade before joining Fiorentina in 2008, where he scored 40 goals in 134 appearances.
He then made a €27m switch to Manchester City five years later, but injuries wrecked his spell at the Etihad Stadium.
A move to Inter followed, but despite playing regularly for the Nerazzurri last season, he has made just four appearances in 2016-17.
