Paco Alcacer admits he “feels liberated” after finally breaking his Barcelona duck but insists he was never pressured by the media scrutiny.
Alcacer followed up his goal against Al-Ahli in Doha last week with another during Wednesday’s 7-0 thrashing of Hercules in the Copa del Rey last 32, his first for Barca in competitive football after 11 games.
“This goal means a lot to me,” the striker said after the match.
“I went a long time without seeing the back of the net, so it was important to stay in line with Doha and score my first goal.
“The most important thing is to help the team, regardless of whether it’s today or tomorrow.
“Against a team so deep, it’s difficult to find space, but they opened up after our first goal.
“What my Coach and colleagues think is important. Valuations from others aren’t relevant.”
