Sevilla midfielder Samir Nasri has been ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League fixture against Dinamo Zagreb.
Nasri, who arrived at the Sanchez Pizjuan on a season-long loan from Manchester City in the summer, picked up an injury during the 1-1 draw with Sporting Gijon at the weekend.
“Nasri suffered some muscular damage in his left biceps, an MRI scan has revealed. The player’s length of absence will be known once he undergoes further tests,” read a club statement.
The French international has enjoyed something of a renaissance in Andalusia after being frozen out at City by boss Pep Guardiola, notching three goals in nine appearances in all competitions, and has been praised for his performances under Jorge Sampaoli this season.
The 29-year-old may also be struggling to make the home game with Barcelona at the weekend and a more likely return date could be November 19 against Deportivo la Coruna.
