Sevilla sporting director Monchi has issued a rallying call to his club to be optimistic and confident for the season ahead.
Monchi praised his side's second half display against Lyon on Tuesday night as their 'best of the season' and outlined the importance of his players adapting to new boss Jorge Sampaoli's philosophy and ideas.
"I see that the team wants to buy into what the coach is proposing and what he is training them to do," the 48-year-old told Radio Sevilla.
"For the game against Lyon for instance, in the first half we were not at the level we should be but the second half was our best performance of the season, so we must be optimistic and remain confident in this.
"Sampaoli has the ability and management to get exactly what he wants and also we have players of sufficient quality to do this – they also have room for improvement and this coach is perfect for that.
"I have known about his ideas for many years and I know that he will not negotiate on this."
