Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he is “hopeful” of signing Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi in the next 10 days.
Mustafi remains a Valencia player for the time being and was included in their squad for Monday’s La Liga opener against Las Palmas, but Wenger claims Arsenal are far from giving up on landing the Germany international.
“Mustafi? We hope this [deal] will soon be done,” he told SFR Sport.
“We’re working [hard] to find the players we need, and he’s one of the players we’re looking at. Talks are ongoing.”
