Andres Iniesta admits “it’s not an easy situation” for whoever Barcelona will sign as a deputy to their ‘MSN’ frontline.
Barca have yet to sign a forward to act as back-up for Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar next season, with Luciano Vietto the latest player to turn down such a role, and Iniesta concedes his club are struggling in their search.
“[Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez] have quality. They have a common denominator: they’re young lads with the enthusiasm of making the leap for a team like Barca. They’re at the ideal club to grow,” the midfielder told Marca.
“Given the forwards we have, [signing one] isn’t an easy situation, but I also think it’s a desirable one.
“The player who comes in will be one more and can contribute to the team with their work.
“I understand it’s not easy [to find a deputy to ‘MSN’], but I insist it’s also desirable [for the player].
“Whoever comes in has no reason to think he’ll play more or less, but that they will add their quality and talent [to the squad].”
