Carlos Bacca features highly on Barcelona’s list of alternatives if Luciano Vietto chooses Sevilla when he leaves Atletico Madrid.
Mundo Deportivo notes that Barca have a deal with Atletico for Vietto at €22m but the player is concerned about the amount of playing time he’d get at Camp Nou as he competes with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar and it’s reported Sevilla are close to getting him on loan.
Vietto had become Barca’s main objective but sporting director Robert Fernandez has other options and one of which is Milan’s ex-Sevilla forward Bacca, who has been in demand this summer, twice turning down Premier League West Ham.
Bacca wants a Champions League team and Napoli are in the running since they’re losing Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus, though Inter’s Mauro Icardi is another option there.
Mario Gomez is also on Barca’s shortlist but there’s concern over his high salary of €4.5m per year, his lack of experience in La Liga and it’s questioned if he’d accept playing second fiddle to Barca’s trident.
