Sevilla sporting director Monchi says there is no news on the future of Kevin Gameiro, a target of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Monchi, speaking at the presentation of Franco Vazquez, acknowledged the interest in the striker but can’t say where Gameiro will be when the transfer window closes.
“The answer to Gameiro is the same as yesterday. There’s nothing new. I’ve said, Kevin has the interest of many clubs but we have no idea other than we want him to stay. There’s still a month-and-a-half of the market and we don’t know what will happen but it’s a monotonous issue as there is nothing new,” Estadio Deportivo quotes him as saying.
“We’re negotiating the exit of Ciro Immobile [to Lazio]. Maybe there’s news in two or three days. We’re close to an agreement with a club. Fernando Llorente? He’s been in Orlando, training, and as of today he’s a Sevilla player.
“I talk to Jorge Sampaoli almost every day. I was with him today. He’s satisfied. We are both satisfied the group is buying our idea. It’s important the group believes in what they’re doing.
“We continue to work on strengthening some positions but everything so far is positive. We’re working all-round, not on a particular position, maybe a player who can cover several positions. But we could start competing with the current squad.”
