Valencia have announced the departures of winger Pablo Piatti and right-back Antonio Barragan to Espanyol and Middlesbrough respectively.
A statement on Valencia’s official website explains that Piatti has joined Espanyol on a season-long loan, with the option for a permanent transfer – thought to be set at €2.5m – to Cornella-El Prat next summer.
Barragan, meanwhile, has joined Middlesbrough on a three-year contract and becomes the third former La Liga player after Victor Valdes and Bernardo Espinosa to arrive in Teesside summer.
The 29-year-old, who began his professional career with Liverpool in 2005, ends his spell at Mestalla having made 151 appearances in five seasons.
