Sevilla have completed the double swoop of Franco Vazquez from Palermo and one-time Brazil wonderkid Ganso on five-year contracts.
Vazquez’s move was confirmed on Friday by Palermo, and Sevilla have since made it official on their website, with the Italo-Argentine attacking midfielder due to join his new teammates at their Orlando training camp early next week.
Sevilla have also announced the arrival of Ganso for a fee reportedly in the region of €10m, although it is not known if they have secured his outright ownership, 50 percent of his economic rights having belonged to DIS.
Ganso was mentioned in the same breath as Neymar when the pair broke out at Santos in 2010, but a failure to make Brazil’s 2010 World Cup squad and subsequent injuries and loss of form saw the No 10’s stock fall.
His switch to Sao Paulo in 2012, however, eventually paid dividends as the 26-year-old ended a four-year hiatus from the Seleccao at last month’s Copa America.
He is currently nursing a thigh injury, although the setback is not expected to hinder his medical.
