Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has reportedly flown to Ibiza to broker a deal for Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio.
According to Sport Mediaset, Galliani met with Musacchio’s agent in the Balearic Islands on Saturday to agree terms on a contract for the defender.
However, there remains some disparity over the fee, with the Rossoneri valuing the player at €25m and the Yellow Submarine holding out for €30m.
Nonetheless, the Italian outlet claims “negotiations are at a decisive juncture” as “the next few hours could be very important”.
New Milan boss Vincenzo Montella is on the lookout for new centre-backs after the departures of Philippe Mexes and Alex.
Musacchio, who turns 25 next month, returned from a leg break last December, but a subsequent hamstring injury saw him miss 12 of Villarreal’s final 13 matches in 2015-16.
