Osasuna are back in La Liga as Saturday’s 1-0 win at Girona in the Segunda playoff final was enough to end their two-year absence from the top flight.
Kenan Kodro’s finish at the start of the second half capped off a 3-1 aggregate victory for Osasuna and a remarkable turnaround, the Pamplona side having finished just one place above the relegation zone last season.
Osasuna only finished in a playoff place by the virtue of their superior head-to-head record against Real Zaragoza but will join automatically-promoted Alaves and Leganes in La Primera next term.
Girona, meanwhile, have now lost in two successive playoff campaigns and will be complemented in the second tier by relegated trio Getafe, Rayo Vallecano and Levante.
