Celta Vigo have beaten Aston Villa and Newcastle United to make Gimnastic striker Jose Naranjo their first summer signing.
Naranjo scored 15 goals in 34 Segunda appearances for Nastic last season as the Catalans were denied promotion to La Liga on the last day of the campaign and subsequently lost in the playoffs.
The 21-year-old is also understood to have rejected offers from relegated Premier League sides Villa and Newcastle, the latter of whom are managed by Rafa Benitez.
Celta are preparing for their first European campaign in nine years courtesy of a sixth-place Primera finish in 2015-16.
