Jorge Sampaoli and Rudi Garcia are the latest names linked to Sevilla when Unai Emery quits for Paris Saint-Germain.
Emery’s departure from Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan is considered inevitable and Marca say it will be confirmed very shortly, if nothing goes wrong in the conclusion of his talks with PSG, but there are differing reports on who Los Rojiblancos will approach as his successor.
Sampaoli, recently said to have an ‘agreement in principle’ with Granada, is said by Marca to be in the frame and Sevilla sporting director Monchi allegedly met with Juanma Lilo, the former Real Sociedad and Almeria Coach who was on Sampaoli’s staff with the Chile national team.
However, AS say Sevilla are also talking to former Roma trainer Garcia over the imminent vacancy, and describe the Frenchman as the ‘favourite’ for the post, going so far as to say he could be signed in the very near future.
AS also report elsewhere that Sevilla have held an interest in Quique Sanchez Flores but he looks bound for Espanyol, who made a better financial offer than the Europa League holders, making the ex-Watford boss the highest-paid Coach in the history of the Catalan club at €1.8m-a-year.
