Atletico Madrid could follow up the signings of Diogo Jota and Nicolas Gaitan with that of Sporting Lisbon winger Andre Carrillo, according to AS.
However, as the newspaper explains, any move for Carrillo would be “unusual” as the Peruvian has not played for Sporting CP since last September due to a contract dispute and has agreed to join their arch-rivals Benfica on a Bosman free transfer this summer.
Therefore, Benfica would be able to demand a significant fee for the player’s services, AS claiming to the tune of €25m, the same price Atleti are believed to be paying for Gaitan.
Los Colchoneros have also sealed a deal for Pacos de Ferreira starlet Jota, the club reportedly beating Arsenal and West Ham United to the attacker’s signature in March.
