Diogo Jota confirms he had other options but chose to join Atletico Madrid as ‘I liked them and they liked me.’
The Pacos Ferreira youngster will move to Vicente Calderon in the summer and told SportTV that he feels ready to make the step.
“It was obvious that I had to choose. Pacos had several proposals and I chose from them,” he said, AS reports.
“I decided [on Atleti] because of the project they presented. I thought it was the right club. I felt like I liked the people and they liked me, and they wanted me too.
“Our Coach, Jorge Simao, has a similar mentality [to Diego Simeone], although I would consider Simeone to be unique. I think I’m ready, otherwise I wouldn’t have accepted the offer.”
