Valencia President Layhoon Chan says the club is ‘carefully planning for next season’ after letting go of Gary Neville.
Chan was speaking as Pako Ayestaran was presented as Neville’s replacement, the club’s third Coach of the season after the Englishman and his predecessor Nuno Santo.
“I think we’ve all seen the problems of this season and next season we’ll plan carefully,” Chan said, AS reports.
“Let’s wait for [sporting director Jesus] Garcia Pitarch to explore all available possibilities, what’s best for the club’s plans long-term.
“We’ll see what changes for next season. When the changes are clear, we’ll see.”
Chan elaborated on Pitarch, appointed in January, and said he has ‘a lot to do next summer.’
“’Suso’ has been with us since January. [Denis] Cheryshev, [Guilherme] Siqueira, that’s his work,” Chan continued.
“He’ll have a huge role in the summer transfers. He’s got a lot to do next summer.”
