Carlos Tevez confirms he had an offer from Atletico Madrid and spoke to Diego Simeone when leaving Juventus, but returned to Boca Juniors instead.
Tevez quit Serie A to go back to Argentina in 2015 but admitted he had the chance to stop at Vicente Calderon first.
“I called Cholo and I was very excited. It’s also left in my account that I haven’t played in Spain, but I said no,” he told Marca.
“I would have played for two years in Spain, and I knew Atletico were fighting for the League and the Champions League.
“In the last year the only offer I had from Spain was from Atletico. Real Madrid were interested before.”
