Barcelona Vice-President Jordi Mestre admitted Lionel Messi wouldn’t have passed his penalty at 0-0 but ‘don’t talk about disrespect.’
Messi laid the penalty off to Luis Suarez for his hat-trick as Barca beat Celta Vigo 6-1 and after, Mestre was asked if he’d ever seen anything like it – and if it was an insult to Celta.
“I remember [Johan] Cruyff, at Ajax I think. It’s the second time I’ve seen it. I don’t think they’d have done it at 0-0,” he replied, AS reports.
“My personal opinion is that at this point, if we see this show and talk about disrespect, that’s not so good.
“I don’t know if they rehearsed the penalty. I think they talked about it and it went well for the level of football they’re at.”
