Javi Gracia has warned Malaga that they need to start winning again ahead of Saturday’s trip to Eibar in La Liga.
A six-game unbeaten run saw the Andalucians go from relegation battlers to the cusp of the top half, but they have failed to win any of their last three, including successive defeats to Barcelona and Sevilla, prompting caution from the Coach.
“We must know how to compete against a very strong team at home,” he said at a Press conference.
“Our objective is not only to follow the path we’ve set out in the last few weeks but also pick up points.
“We’ve said after recent games that we were on the right track to compete well, but we’re also aware that if we don’t win [on Saturday], it’ll have been four weeks without one and no-one will remember our performances against Barcelona or Sevilla.
“Ipurua is a difficult venue and has not been very good for Malaga historically, but [Real] Madrid and Atletico Madrid are the only ones who have managed to win there this season.
“It’s a fascinating game because we are facing a very good team, one who aren’t deflated and will keep going [regardless of the result].
“[Eibar] aren’t only well organised but also have players who can make a difference. They have many qualities.”
