Villarreal boss Marcelino insisted Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Espanyol in La Liga “didn’t feel like a win”, despite their late equaliser.
Mateo Musacchio’s 89th-minute goal earned the Yellow Submarine a point after they were forced to come back from behind twice, but the Coach refused to accept the result as a point gained.
“In no way did the result feel like a win,” he said after the game.
“Espanyol could’ve won, but I don’t think it’s an unfair result. Both teams had chances to score.
“We came back from behind twice. It wasn’t something we wanted, but we responded well and caused [Espanyol] problems.
“Espanyol are usually reliable at home and have only conceded 10 goals.
“Six of them came in a single game [against Real Madrid] and Barcelona found it hard to break them down.”
