Keylor Navas has admitted that Real Madrid “were doing the wrong things” under Rafa Benitez and “had to take a deep breath”.
Benitez was sacked at the beginning of the month and promptly succeeded by Zidane, who has since led Madrid to back-to-back victories, and Navas added to the belief that Los Blancos felt more in sync with the Frenchman.
“All of us were aware that we were doing the wrong things and had to take a deep breath,” the goalkeeper told El Homiguero.
“With Zidane, it feels that if the team win, we all win, and if we lose, we all lose.
“With confidence comes victories, and we must fight to the end in order to retain a chance of winning [trophies this season].
“We respect all our Coaches and when a change [at the helm] occurs, we must give everything to do everything asked of us.
“Zidane is a very respectful person and clear about what he wants, and we’re here to obey him and do the best we possibly can.
“He has a sense of humor, but we have to be serious in training.”
