Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo has said the club will appeal against the transfer embargo implemented by FIFA.
Atleti and Real Madrid were on Thursday banned from registering players for two transfer windows, beginning in summer 2016, having been found to have registered underage players from outside Spain in contravention of FIFA regulations.
“It’s a sanction we’re going appeal. We have every right,” Cerezo is quoted as saying by AS.
“We never expected this. This is the first notice. It’s a huge injustice and not being able to sign anyone is a problem, though we do have a deep squad.”
