Mathieu Valbuena has insisted that he has “no problem” playing with Karim Benzema for France, despite their joint-involvement in the ongoing blackmail case.
Valbuena was left out of Didier Deschamps' most recent France squad, while Benzema has been suspended by the national team indefinitely for being charged with conspiracy to blackmail his countryman, but the midfielder has made it clear that he bears no grudges with the Real Madrid star.
“Of course [I can play with Benzema], anything is possible. There's no problem,” he told TF1.
“[On his recent omission], I spoke with the Coach and understood his decision.
“It was a shock at first and I found it hard to accept, but I've come to understand it since then.
“My performances haven't been bad [for Lyon], but my numbers aren't good.
“If I have a good run for my club, I don't see why I won't return to the France team.”
