Villarreal boss Marcelino has made it clear that the situation regarding Barcelona target Denis Suarez “hasn't changed”.
The young attacker was believed to have been closing in on a return to Camp Nou, with technical secretary Robert Fernandez recently admitting his club's interest in the player, but the Coach revealed there had been no new developments.
“There have been times when we've failed to beat teams near the bottom,” he said at a Press conference for Sunday's visit of Sporting Gijon in La Liga.
“The game against Sporting is very important. I expect strong opponents with a high tempo.
“They're in a difficult situation and that can weigh them down, but we know they are going to demand a lot of us and are dangerous on the counterattack,
“For now, the situation of Denis [Suarez] hasn't changed.”
