Luka Modric has admitted that Real Madrid were right to replace Rafa Benitez with Zinedine Zidane following Saturday's 5-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna.
The Frenchman made a thunderous start to his reign at the Santiago Bernabeu, in what was perceived to have been a far cry from performances under his predecessor, and the midfielder felt “the change has been good”.
“I'm sorry for Rafa and I'd like to thank him for his work, but to be honest, taking this game into account, I think the change has been good,” he said after the game.
“When you lose, someone always has to pay, but to be honest, you just have to compare this match with our last one.”
